Our "School Days Living History" event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON SATURDAY, AUG 24 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm!
Educators teaching American history often wish they could go back in time and show their students just what life was like.
As part of our 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION we'll give you the opportunity to do just that!
Come experience what daily life was like from 1800 to 1850. Our re-enactors will take you on a journey with the Lewis and Clark Expedition and throughout the American frontier right up to the Civil War period.
Trained and experienced re-enactors will be on site to provide the public with the same engaging and educational experience we provide to visiting school tour groups. All presenters will be in period correct garb. Many of these individuals are retired educators with degrees in history and many years of re-enacting behind them. This is not a lecture but rather an interaction with these folks as if you had actually gone back in time and stepped into their everyday life.
Experts in all the fields of early 1800s life as soldiers, mountain men, blacksmiths, etc. Come aboard the boats of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Experience hands-on training in long-lost practices such as fire starting with flint and steel, blacksmithing, river boat management, hide preparation, early woodworking techniques, the parts those skills played on the frontier, and much more...
