Covered Wagon Women’s View of Nature in Nebraska

 Laurence L. Falk, Ph.D.

A series of books, by Kennneth L. Holmes, ed., contain diaries and letters of women traveling by covered wagon through Nebraska.  These women, old and young, wrote their impressions and observations of the flora and fauna along the trail beginning in the 1840’s and ending in 1900.    Since they noted when they crossed the Missouri River and when they reached Chimney Rock it is possible to sort out their Nebraska observations and present them by category.
Power Point Presentation.
